Sardonic Scribe

After watching the recent Obama inauguration there is absolutely no doubt remaining at all that the so called mainstream media is little more than a pathetic propaganda tool of liberals and the democrat party. Never before in my life time have I been witness to such an outright, blatant, liberal love-fest the likes the world has seldom seen before.  There was no concern whatsoever for anything that could even possibly resemble objectivity. Nearly every other minute or so shots of the crowd attending the festivities were shown as the cameras sought out and found someone with tears streaming down their faces caught in the enrapturing moment that was Obama. One could only marvel at the majesty and magnitude of the moment surely sending much more than simple tingles up the legs of those who so lucky as to be able to report on the historic event.   

 

The sky seemed bluer somehow, the sun appeared to be brighter, why the birds seemed to be singing sweeter than one could have imagined at the magnitude of the event. The events were witnessed with adoration and marvel by those in the media. The media even managed to overlook the disrespect, booing, and chanting of those in attendance when President Bush was making his way onto the platform. One could have heard a pin drop as Obama made his less than memorable speech filled with lofty rhetoric, hyperbole, and empty platitudes but then again, he sounded so good saying it whether it was true or not. 

 

And the coverage of the first week of “Obamelot” has been just as predictable as the fawning media has presented all the events of the new administration.  There has been no discourse, no question of any policy, or any appointment such was the daily fare during the Bush years. Obama pledges that no lobbyists will be in his administration as he asks for waivers for two of them he wants to have serve. Forget the fact that his Treasury Secretary nominee didn’t pay taxes for 4 years, he is really sorry about it and heck, he is just the smartest guy ever and will save the day. Why this is a new day, a democrat controlled Washington, and after all, it is Obama calling the shots now. 

 

Devoid of objectivity, the media can now openly proffer any and all propaganda and can gleefully carry the water for the democrats as the unofficial state propaganda machine. The truth can be spun to be whatever they want it to be and fact, reason, and logic can quickly be pushed aside for tantalizing, idolizing, open worship of the Obama administration. Have the media found religion? It certainly seems so as Obama is treated as some kind of Messiah ascending to the mountain tops to peer down on his salivating followers. 

 

And never fear, this new administration will even go so far as to reintroduce the so called “Fairness Doctrine” which is intended only to silence voices of opposition in talk radio. Do they care that they control television, print media, and the left wing blogosphere? No, they simply can’t tolerate any dissent or opposition and will do anything to silence anyone who dares challenge them or their ideology. Those of us who prefer truth, fact, and a simple presentation of empirical data were forced to seek alternatives in talk radio and the Internet years ago as the media moved further and further left and finally decided to not only quit trying to hide their liberal bias and agenda but openly embrace it. Hypocrisy does not begin to define shameful double standard applied to republicans, especially conservatives. One has only to think of Sarah Palin and the army of so called reporters and jounalists who rushed to Alaska to examine every aspect of her life with fervor of rabid dogs searching for any morsel that could be used against her. When nothing was found these objective journalists proudly proffered supposition, rumor, and propaganda found in the left wing blogosphere of such shining examples of jounalism as the rumor that the baby was actually Sarah’s daughters and not hers at all. 

 

I have no doubt that during the course of covering all things democrat and everything happening in “Obamelot” that we will no doubt be entreated to every conceivable manner of tripe, bilge, and garbage imaginable from the pinheads in the propaganda machine. My belief is that those of us who seek the truth will like unheeded voices crying out in the void left alone to drift in the vacuum of sanctimonious dribble doled out by self righteous purveyors of emotionally charged drivel designed to placate those incapable of rational or reasonable thought.  Year after year, as more fledgling lemmings are produced in the public school system and go on to higher learning institutions to be further indoctrinated in “secular progressive” mind think, well those who can read their high school diplomas anyway, then the learned professors can further enlighten our hope for tomorrow with further Utopian ideology. Thus further adding to the liberal rank and file who will surely vote democrat. And, if that isn’t enough to get the job done why they can always give amnesty to the 30 million or so illegals who out of gratitude will certainly repay them by voting democrat further empowering these enlightened and learned bastions of virtue with even more power for many years to come. All the while, the loyal and eager propaganda machine will continue to churn out the daily drivel for the hungering masses whose starving minds will be shaped and molded in the proper manner as determined by our esteemed leaders and their eager followers in the mainstream media. 

 

It certainly seems that gone are the days when one could tune in for an objective presentation of facts and truth allowing the viewer to draw their own conclusions. Why now we don’t even have to think, that is being done for us and we are told the conclusions we should draw from whatever is presented to us as so called news.  As most of us are so consumed with working to pay the back breaking tax burdens placed on us by an ever increasing government intent on consuming a larger and larger share of our earnings is it any wonder that many simply lack the time to research or seek out facts with regard to current events and are dependent on what ever is offered for consumption by the talking heads or their counterparts in the print media? Now it appears that we must seek alternative sources of information, fact, and truth and must engage in research on our own to ferret out facts that have not been spun, taken out of context, fabricated, or simply lied about. Hence the growing popularity of the Internet. And despite all of this those failing media giants seem genuinely puzzled that their newspapers, magazines, and television stations are failing or losing revenue hand over fist. Well here’s a clue for you, there are actually a few of us who are capable of free thought left out here in flyover country and we are watching you. Although I don’t expect to see a return to reason and logic anytime soon it is my prayer that the possibility will continue that reasoned objectivity might someday return to those in charge of our mainstream media. For now I’m afraid that we are left with only an agenda promoting, bias laden, shell who will continue to follow the direction of the liberals, looney left, and democrat party.
