Why Should I care?

Obama has now been sworn in as the 44th President and I find myself asking why should I care? Should I care because the liberals and the media said that Bush was so bad for eight years? Should I care because Obama is a black, liberal, democrat? Why exactly should I be caring so much? 

 

Yes, I realize that Obama is the first black to be elected and since that milestone has been made, now what? Where was the adoration, undulation, and outright idolatry when Clarence Thomas was sworn in as a Supreme Court Justice? Where was it when Dr. Condeleeza Rice was sworn in? Or any of the many other milestones achieved by extremely capable but conservative blacks? But then, these were “conservatives” so they were attacked and villified horribly by the mainstream media. 

 

Should I care because this country is going to be turned drastically to the left and infused with every whacko socialst policy possible? In the midst of the incredibly difficult recession and horrible economic times we witnessed a $170 million dollar coronation.  This was three times more expensive than any other in history and yet the same people who decried the Bush inauguration which cost less than a third of Obama’s were strangely silent about the cost. 

 

Should I care that the same people who have been running the government and literally caused the economic crisis are the same ones who are supposedly going to fix things by spending our way out of trouble? Where was Barney Frank and Chris Dodd when oversight was called for years ago when they blocked every attempt to do so with regard to Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac? And where exactly are the trillions of dollars supposed to come from that is going to be spent to supposedly fix all of this? 

 

I do care about every single bit of the aforementioned, I care deeply. I sit in abject horror as it has not even taken a week to nationalize the economy, overturn the policies that have kept us safe for the past eight years, and an endless laundry list of socialist promises to come have been put forth by the Obama team. I care deeply and I am deeply frightened by the assualt on the constitution and bill of rights by people who seem determined to destroy America as I know it. 

 

I care because I love my country and do not want to see it destroyed by failed and faulty philosophy or policy. The founders of this country recognized that we have inalienable rights from God, not government or the state. These rights can not be allowed to be diminished or destroyed. I will fervently pray for the future of this great nation and will stand up at every turn to defend it. God bless America.
