Did I just hear what I heard?

Sen. Obama held a press conference today and denounced Jeremiah Wright in the strongest terms so far. Huh, what? Did he just wake up and what in the world has he been listening to for the last twenty years? Emphasis should be on the number twenty with regard to years as in the length of time that Barack Obama has been attending this church where Wright has been the preacher. Obama has been going there for twenty years but he has just started hearing what Wright has been preaching? How can that possibly be the case? What has he been listening to for the last twenty years? It doesn’t appear that Wright has changed his stance on much of anything and if anything has proven his consistency on what he believes. If Obama is twenty years behind in hearing what has been preached for twenty years then how can we be expected to believe that he is in tune and attuned to current events in America and in the world. If it has taken twenty years of listening to a pattern of hate and racism for Obama to become aware of it then what else can expect Obama to completely out of touch with? How out of touch with reality is Obama really that he is just now shocked at what Wright has been preaching for the past twenty years? Watching the feigned disbelief, and shock makes Obama look somewhat like a pitiful child who just got his feelings hurt by his best friend. Okay, maybe the outrage, hurt, and disappointment maybe genuine is it at all credible? Well if you think so please call me about some land on the moon that I would like to sell to you. Get real.

The Frog is boiling!

Stick a frog in a pot of water and slowly bring it to a boil all the while the unwitting frog is totally oblivious to his ultimate and certain impending death. Much like our esteemed frog we seem to be sitting around, fat, dumb, and somewhat happy while everything goes in the tank around us. Have you felt even the slightest twangs of pain at the pump? Have you bought a loaf of bread, dozen eggs, or milk in the last few days? Oh my, prices are certainly not taking a nose dive by any means. Our solutions seems to be to tune into our favorite talking head or grab the latest fish wrapper to read all about the current state of affairs with regard to politics. Now I certainly don’t want to see things get any worse but honestly, does anyone really think for a second that the empty rhetoric spewing out of Washington, DC is going to change much of anything? After all, these guys and gals simply can’t be bothered with finding real solutions to anything when they are stretched thin working themselves to death trying to stay in office, power, and control. How long have we been slaves to foreign oil? How long have politicians been promising solutions? Can you say Jimmy Carter? I for one vividly remember gas rationing and other economic woes associated with Mr. Carter’s brand of democratic governance. How quickly is this going to improve and how much worse will it get before it does start getting better? And which party is in control, is it not the democrats? Wasn’t it just two short years ago that Nancy Pelosi was all over the news promising a real, common sense solution to our ever worsening fuel price problems? So, Nancy, what is this miracle solution anyway and when can we expect to see it? Maybe the solution is to go back to bell bottom jean, living in communes, protesting everything, and singing Cum Bay Ya. Or maybe not but putting our faith and basing our hopes on big brother government is not the solution either. The only thing we can be sure of out of government is going to be an ever increasing and back breaking burden in the form of oppressive taxation. Of that you can be sure especially if either of progressive democrat candidates becomes the next occupant of the White House in Jan.  Much like the line from one of the Alien movies which says, “Be afraid, be very afraid.”, I think we should be at the highest level of concern.Personally, I will be spending some serious time in prayer. Prayer for our country, our leaders, and our culture in general.  My prayers will be that we can find people who still possess strong character and have the integrity to lead our great nation. Someone capable of summoning the courage to act decisively despite the political consequences. Someone who will honor our heritage, sovereignty, and constitution. No matter what may come, the time for prayer has certainly never been more urgently needed than right now.God bless America!
